In 1991-1996, Steven joined Barton Associates Pte Ltd (specializing in Quantity Surveying and Project Management). In 1995 Barton Associates Pte Ltd (now known as Barton Bruce Shaw Pte Ltd) incorporated a Building Surveying company called BA Building Surveying Pte Ltd where Steven was appointed a Director. Steven’s role was mainly to provide Building Surveying services. He was involved in dispute cases where he was called as an Expert Witness
in Arbitration and Litigation Cases.
Equipped with many years of experience in both disciplines, Steven began to venture into providing Project Management services. In cases where his Building Surveyor’s Report was required to identify defects and recommendation of rectification works, it usually created another prospect for Steven. Clients will usually continue using his services to project manage the rectification works based on his recommendations.
